Whitewater Cemetery, Whitewater, CO

The Historic Whitewater Cemetery is located on an adobe hill southwest of the town of Whitewater. It is the American Flag and some of the graves that can be seen from U.S. Highway 50, a little south of Whitewater.

We are looking for people interested in learning and taking over responsibilities of preparing gravesites for burial, as well as general maintenance.

If interested, please call – 970-260-0155 Rich.

The cemetery is run by a group of volunteers. We recognize that choosing a gravesite and burying a loved one can be an incredibly stressful time in your life and we will try to do our part to make the process as simple as possible.  Please understand that we are all volunteers and so as much pre-planning as can be done is appreciated.  Our volunteers take care of the cemetery grounds, place wreaths on the graves of veterans during Memorial Day and Veterans Day and we can help, as available, with burials.

The cost of a single 5’X12’ casket plot is $400. You will get a $100 refund if a permanent marker is placed within six months from the date of purchase. If you do not place a marker within the 6-month time frame we will keep the $100 and place a marker.

We can arrange for a backhoe for families who do not have the use of one.  For these families who purchase a plot and need assistance with a backhoe – the cost to open and close the grave site is $800. We bill upon delivery and can take cash the day of the burial. Any family is welcome to open and close the grave site on their own with the guidance of the member of Whitewater Cemetery Association.
